Welcome
Musicians for a better life (MUFO) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering young musicians by providing them with the resources, education, and opportunities needed to develop their talents and pursue successful careers in the music industry. Established in 2020, MUFO operates nationally, aiming to uplift communities through music and cultural heritage.
Our Projects
We have different projects spread over Tanzania. Most of them are focused on empowering children and reach from teaching instruments to taking part at festivals and operas.
Violin classes in Arusha
Together with Tanzanian musician Catherine Mushi, we have founded Tanzania's first violin class at the Living Water Children Center orphanage in Tanzania, Arusha. It is important to us to offer the children there a new perspective by providing them with music lessons. The violin class is also attended by many children with albinism. They receive special support through the violin lessons. The children are taught twice a week by Catherine and the teacher Caroline. The children are enthusiastic and have discovered a new zest for life through the music lessons. The children practice diligently and radiate a whole new strength and vigor. The violin group performs regularly and provides musical accompaniment to festive activities. Students from the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich support the violin project as volunteers.
Music Culture Center Mbalizi
The opening of the new Mbalizi Music School in March 2024 marks a significant step forward for music education in the rural region of Mbeya, Tanzania. In partnership with Iwindi Secondary School and other local public schools, the music school aims to provide improved music education for children.
